Celebrating Women in STEM:
#AccelerateAction

At Alchemy, we believe that innovation thrives when diverse academic disciplines, domain experiences, and ways of thinking synergistically come together. This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible contributions of women in STEM, those who have pushed boundaries, challenged the status quo, and paved the way for future generations.

The 2025 theme - Accelerate Action - emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. While progress has been made, significant challenges remain that require collective effort and commitment. This is a moment to reflect on the strides taken so far and identify the concrete actions still needed to build a more inclusive and equitable world.

Women have played a crucial role in advancing science and technology, from pioneers like Marie Curie “for the discovery of the elements radium and polonium, by the isolation of radium and the study of the nature and compounds of this remarkable element” back in 1911 to more recently Carolyn Bertozzi “for the development of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry” in 2022, Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A. Doudna “for the development of a method for genome editing” in 2020, and Frances H. Arnold “for the directed evolution of enzymes” in 2018.

Yet, despite their achievements, women remain underrepresented in STEM fields, facing barriers that range from unconscious bias to limited access to opportunities.

As a company dedicated to building cutting-edge scientific software, we recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive environment where women in STEM can thrive. We are committed to supporting and amplifying the voices of women who drive innovation, whether they are researchers, engineers, or technologists shaping the future of science.

This International Women’s Day, we encourage everyone to take action, mentor, advocate, and create spaces where women in STEM can excel. Together, we can build a more equitable future, one where science and technology benefit from the full spectrum of human potential.

To all the women in STEM: we celebrate you today and every day. Your work inspires us, and your impact is shaping the future of innovation.
